About
It starts with a hundred acres in Armada.
In 1946 Gerald and Lovey Blake left the suburbs for a hundred-acre plot in Armada, Michigan, with a three-bedroom farmhouse on it. They started an orchard and they had thirteen children.
Almost everything this company is grew out of that decision.
How we got here
- 1946 Gerald and Lovey Blake buy a hundred acres in Armada, Michigan, and plant an orchard.
- 2013 Paul's son Andrew Blake, who grew up working the orchard, founds Blake's Hard Cider in Armada.
- 2013 Austin Eastciders is founded in Austin, Texas.
- 2013 Avid Cider Co. is founded in the Pacific Northwest, out of concert kegs at local events and pints passed around picnic tables.
- 2022 Blake's Hard Cider acquires Avid Cider Co.
- 2023 Austin Eastciders joins, and the three become Blake's Beverage Company.

Avid is not on that list on purpose. It is a West Coast brand rather than one tied to a town.
